Abstract

The present investigation was proposed as an objective to evaluate the environmental microbiological quality in the offices of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidad Peruana Los Andes. The method was basic, transversal, prospective and descriptive level; The population constituted by 16 offices, were sampled from October 2016 to March 2017, using the technique of exposure for 30 minutes (for environments) and swabbing (for equipment and furniture) in order to evaluate both the hygienic quality and sanitary quality. After exposure or swab plates were incubated at 37 ° C for 48-72 hours. The identification of the colonies was made based on the macroscopic, dyeing and biochemical characteristics. Hygienic quality, by counting heterotrophic bacteria reported 1130 CFU / plate in environments, while on surfaces 1394 CFU / plate; being higher in keyboards (432 CFU / board). There was a greater presence of molds and yeasts on surfaces (616 CFU / plate), being predominant in telephones (190 CFU / plate). Sanitary quality by counting S. aureus was greater on surfaces (312 CFU / plate), with high rates on keyboards (98 CFU / plate). The counts of E. coli were higher in environments (12 CFU / plate), being minimal in surfaces (4 CFU / plate).
