OBJECTIVE: To determine the risk factors in newborns with neonatal jaundice in the neonatology ward of the Hospital regional Docente Materno Infantil El Carmen during the months of January to March 2019. MATERIALS AND METHODS: RESULTS: CONCLUSION:

MATERIAL AND METHODS: A quantitative, descriptive type investigation was carried out. With a retrospective design, the sample consisted of 285 medical records of newborns of the Neonatology Service, with a diagnosis of Neonatal Jaundice; the instrument used was the medical records.
RESULTS: The data collected were obtained from the information provided in the area of statistics and from the support of the Hospital's medical records, with which tables were drawn up and the descriptive data analysis was used as statistics and the results were presented with their respective analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Neonatal jaundice is one of the causes of hospitalization nationwide, in most cases they are physiological, timely detection will reduce the various complications
