OBJECTIVE: To establish the accuracy of the Diagnostic Laparoscopy (LD) for the staging of Advanced Gastric Cancer (CGA) in the General Surgery Services of the Ramiro Priale Priale National Hospital (HNRPP) in the 2013-2018 period.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Applied research, descriptive - transversal study. During the period from January 2013 to December 2018. An ad hoc instrument was used for the present investigation.
RESULTS: The sensitivity of the LD for the staging of the CGA was between 80% and 100% for the evaluation of T, between 88.9% and 100% for the evaluation of N and of 97.1% for the evaluation of M. The specificity of the LD for the staging of the CGA was between 87.5% and 100% for the evaluation of T, between 93.3% and 100% for the evaluation of N and of 100% for the evaluation of M.
CONCLUSIONS: The accuracy of the LD for the staging of the CGA was 85.7% to 100% for the evaluation of T, between 95.2% and 100% for the evaluation of N and of 98.1% for the evaluation of M.
