GASTRIC CANCER IN A HOSPITAL IN THE CENTRAL PERUVIAN ANDES 2012-2017

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To establish the survival of patients diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer (CGA) operated in the General Surgery Services of the HNRPP in the period 2012-2017.

MATERIAL AND METHODS: Applied research, descriptive study and observational analysis. The population was all patients diagnosed with AGC operated in the General Surgery Services of the Hospital Nacional Ramiro Prialé Prialé EsSalud Huancayo with inclusion and exclusion criteria during the period from January 2012 to December 2017. An ad hoc instrument was used for the present investigation.

RESULTS: The survival time of the patients operated according to the type of surgery performed according to age was 48 and 19 months (p = 0.022). The survival time of the operated patients according to the type of surgery performed according to sex was 24 and 42 months (p = 0.001) and the survival time of the patients operated according to the type of surgery according to the histological classification has no significant difference (p = 0.103).

CONCLUSIONS: The survival time of patients operated on at the Ramiro Prialé EsSalud Huancayo National Hospital according to the type of surgery performed was 14 and 51 months (p = 0.001).
